Municipal Water Project Manager

Kerr Wood Leidal Associates Ltd. (KWL) is currently seeking an experienced Municipal Water Project Manager to work in our Burnaby office completing municipal water planning and design projects. The Project Manager will complete drinking water distribution projects including system planning, design and construction.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The right person…

You are a professional engineer with 8-15 years experience and have a proven ability in taking a lead role in the design, construction and project management of multidisciplinary engineering projects. Experience in municipal water infrastructure and experience in a consulting engineering business environment is required. You possess an undergraduate engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical or a related discipline. Your technical strengths include assessment, planning, design, project management, and report writing. You are fluent in English both written and spoken, have superior communication skills, and work well under deadlines. You are a Professional Engineer with APEGBC or are eligible for registration.

You will be responsible for project scoping and work plans, proposals, budget tracking, change orders, and quality assurance.

Typical projects include:

  • detailed design of infrastructure including water mains, valve stations, pump stations and storage facilities;
  • tendering, and construction management of water infrastructure;
  • servicing studies for proposed developments working either as the Developer's engineer or the Municipality's technical reviewer;
  • capital planning for water distribution systems including hydraulic network modeling;
  • identification of existing and future deficiencies and evaluation of upgrading alternatives; and
  • completion of energy efficiency audits for water utilities.
