Kerr Wood Leidal and DEC Design Mechanical Consultants (DEC) received an Award of Excellence for the Whistler Athletes' Village District Energy-Sharing System at the Association of Canadian Engineering Companies' (ACEC) awards gala on November 3, 2009.
The Whistler DESS is unique in that it extracts low-temperature ambient heat from treated sewage effluent from the nearby Whistler wastewater treatment plant, making it flexible enough to provide both heating and cooling.
