Whistler District Energy System Receives APEGBC Peak of Excellence Award

Kerr Wood Leidal and DEC Design Mechanical Consultants received the Peak of Excellence Award 2010 for the Whistler Athletes’ Village District Energy-Sharing System at the APEGBC Sea to Sky Branch’s awards dinner on May 13, 2010. The Whistler DESS is unique in that it extracts low-temperature ambient heat from treated sewage effluent from the nearby Whistler wastewater treatment plant, making it flexible enough to provide both heating and cooling.
