Squamish, BC: A Success Story for Integrated Flood Management Planning
2017 CWRA National Conference

KWL's David Roche and David Roulston of the District of Squamish presented on a ground-breaking, three-year study that produced British Columbia’s first comprehensive Integrated Flood Hazard Management Plan.  The Plan considers the effects that different sources of flooding could have on each other, and identifies an array of mitigation choices that balance the need for flood protection with impacts to stakeholders, the community, and the environment.
