Andrew Szojka

Andrew Szojka is senior project manager and hydrotechnical engineer with over 25 years of experience in the consulting and power industries.  He leads multidisciplinary design teams on water management projects, including large water supply dams and irrigation reservoirs, IPP (hydropower) developments, tailings facilities, mine water management infrastructure, and flood recovery and mitigation structures in western Canada, Ontario, and Washington State.  His dam safety experience spans over 20 years and includes seven years of dam safety program management experience for TransAlta Corporation, the largest non-government dam owner in Alberta.

Andrew has managed and directed flood recovery efforts across southern Alberta, directed the pre-design for the Highfield Dam Rehabilitation Project in Saskatchewan, and directed the design of the Dry Creek Water Management Project in BC.  He is currently the design component lead for the Bioengineering Demonstration and Education Project on Bow River adjacent the historic Inglewood community in Calgary.

Andrew is a past national president of the Canadian Water Resources Association (CWRA) and past president of the Alberta Branch of the CWRA.  He is currently a member of the CWRA Board of Directors in Alberta.
