Experience
Mark Chiarandini joined KWL in 2016 after having spent approximately 18 years in the environmental monitoring field. Mark received his B.Sc. from the University of British Columbia in 1997. Following graduation, he was employed and trained by The Water Survey of Canada in Calgary where he installed hydrometric stations and performed hydrometric monitoring across Alberta. Mark spent the most recent decade with another consultant as their Calgary Water Resources Field Manager and the technical lead for their hydrometric monitoring and survey programs. He has a wide range of experience including project management, hydrometric flow monitoring, bathymetric surveying, water quality sampling and monitoring.
Recent project experience includes managing hydrometric monitoring programs across Western Canada to support Baseline Studies, Environmental Impact Assessments and Regulatory Support requirements. Since 2008, Mark has managed the bathymetric surveys of a large portion of the South Saskatchewan River Basin (Bow, Elbow, Highwood, Oldman, Sheep and South Saskatchewan Rivers) for Alberta Environment and Parks. He supports hydrometric monitoring and survey programs activities throughout KWL.
