Experience

Dwayne Meredith leads KWL’s Water Resources British Columbia.  He is a Professional Agrologist with 20 years of experience in watershed management and emergency management.  He works effectively with all levels of government, First Nations and industry and the public.  Dwayne previously worked with Emergency Management BC where he delivered an integrated flood protection strategy and managed natural hazards mitigation across British Columbia through the Strategic Mitigation Program.  Prior to EMBC, Dwayne managed Operations and the Natural Hazards Mitigation Program within the Provincial Emergency Program (PEP) and was a Land and Water Technical Officer with the Province.  Dwayne has significant experience in dam safety, water allocation, drought planning, water licensing, small hydro regulatory approvals, financial management and public engagement.

  • 2009 Premier’s Award – Partnership Category for resolution of the Fitzsimmons Creek / Whistler environmental (debris flow) hazard and land use issue.
  • 2008 Premier’s Award – Freshet 2007 Provincial preparedness planning.
