Burnaby Mountain Booster Pump Station

Project Highlights

Detailed design and construction of a 105 L/s vertical turbine booster pump station.  This station will be an emergency supply to the SFU Burnaby campus (currently under construction).  The pump station is located in the Burnaby Mountain Conservation Area and is buried into the landscape to mitigate the environmental impacts of the location.

Water pump station provides redundant supply to Simon Fraser University.  Three 150 hp vertical turbine pumps, with a fourth redundant, provide an ultimate capacity of 105 L/s.  Station includes a 24 hour emergency power supply with a 500 kW diesel genset.  The station’s green roof is accessible to the public and provides panoramic views overlooking the City.
