Storm Drainage Upgrades for Coast Mountain Bus Company

Project Highlights

KWL was retained by Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC) and Translink to provide detailed design, surveying and construction oversight services for storm drainage upgrades to bus loop and bus maintenance facilities.  The purpose of the upgrades was to capture, treat and contain potential oil spills from buses.

KWL assessed drainage issues at 29 sites and provided the detailed designs and construction oversight for 35 oil-water separators.  Separators were designed based on the standards of municipal, provincial and federal regulations and guidelines and on API design guidelines.

The upgrades provide significant reduction of environmental risk and liability for CMBC and Translink, and provide systems to effectively contain spills or releases if they occur.
